Been Sick!

A few weeks ago I had a nose bleed 3 times in a row. Figured it was a sinus infection so I took something for it and all seemed well. Then, about a week later I got a head cold and it has been a real nasty one. I’m about over it now but it has been a real PITA. Plus the weather here has been really cold and we don’t have traditional heating like everyone else. We use space heaters (electric) and because the way this house has been wired, we can only use so many heaters in this house before a fuse blows, lol. In other words, if we have a heater going in 2 rooms and then try using one in a another room, it blows the circuits.

We did have some wiring done to this house but it was only to put in another breaker switch because the last one got fried, lol. And we also rent this house and it can get costly when you need things done to it. Unfortunately our land lady cannot afford to fix anything after adding a new roof a few years ago. But the people she hired to do the roof didn’t do a very good job and it started to leak and then soon after the ceiling collapsed in one room. We had to fix that ourselves (which was a temporary fix) because we cannot afford to put a new roof on this house. FYI, we put a tarp over the roof when it was leaking and added a long wood board (vertically) in that room to hold the ceiling back up. Hey, it works so I’m not complaining but it is really an eye sore when you walk past it.

Anyway. When I got sick with the head cold I didn’t do much sitting at the computer because of the heater situation and wanting to stay warm. My computer room is a really cold room and has very little insulation so I have to keep the heater running 24/7 to be able to sit in there when it’s cold outside. So, I’ll bet you can imagine what our electric bill looked like this past month. Yeah, it was almost $500 dollars. We were shocked when we got the bill, It has never been that high before and we had snow storm years ago and it was half that back then. I am somewhat under the impression that the electric company can pretty much charge people whatever they want to and we have nothing to say about it. I mean there are just 2 of us living in this house and almost $500 dollars for 1 month? REALLY?  Nope, something seems fishy there if you ask me.

Gotta. go for now. Will see you all later and hugs!
