Crafting Again

So, winter is a good time to sit inside where it’s warm and do some crafting. The past week I made 4 new journals. Below are previews and listed from left to right are the following;  An altered book journal, a flip-flop journal, an accordion journal and a one signature Valentine kitty theme journal.

journals I made

Yup, I’ve been pretty busy crafting and I’m loving every minute of it, lol. Oh, and I have some old packaging from a club cracker box and thought I would make a journal out of that too. I love recycling packaging from trash like that and they can make some great covers for journals too. When I get a chance, I will show you some of the other journals I created using food packaging too.

Anyway, just thought I’d show you what I’ve been up to lately. Of course I am still making tags for my online group too. But in-between doing that, I’ve been making journals and crocheting too. Got to keep busy these days because time is starting to fly by and I’d hate to wake up one morning and think, wow, I could have done this or that but I never did. I’m sure the world is full of should have’s from people all over the place. The trick is, don’t be one of them.

Thanks for stopping by and hugs,

Cooler Weather Means

Cooler weather for me means doing things inside that keeps me busy. Years ago we started collecting movies in VHF and now we collect them in CD. Over these many years we have collected a wide collection of movies from every genre. When I am tired and not wanting to do much of anything else, I will pop in a movie to watch.

Now, when I am wanting to get busy doing other things I’ll do crafts like making journals or maybe some mixed media art stuff. And when I just want to lie down and watch youtube videos of crafting videos, I will sit there and either crochet, do some hand sewing or cut out some paper items for my junk journals. And now because it is getting cooler outside, it’s also the best time to get out that crockpot and cook up a hearty stew or homemade soup. Growing up in Texas I always liked to have a big bowl of chili during the winter months and when the weather turns cold, it’s a good way to warm up those old tired bones too, lol.

Anyway enough about food, lol. I recently made a crochet throw with white yarn and also left over pieces of yarn from other projects I was working on. I used both yarns together (a white color with the left over colored scraps of yarn) and the result was a colorful creation that turned out better than I expected. I will have to try and take a photo with my new cell phone and add it here so you can see it. And because I’m a newbie to these cell phones, I haven’t figured out how to add my pictures to my website from my phone just yet, lol. I will however figure that out one day and when I do, I’ll be able to show you lots of stuff that I have created over the years.

So, now that I completed that one crocheted throw I am now working on another one because I have so much of that left over yarn. But instead of using the white yarn to also use with the colors of scraps I am using a black colored yarn. Now, I have to tell you. I really liked how that other crocheted throw turned out but this one? I have to say, I like it much better! I didn’t think I would because the colors look so much darker sitting next to the black yarn but the colors just blend in to it so well that I am pleasantly surprised on how it is turning out.

What are you doing during the colder months? Anything in particular? Let me know by leaving a comment below. Thanks for stopping by and hugs,
