I recently joined an online group so that I could share my tag offers since I have no incentive of opening another group in order to share my tags. This morning I was creating an email to send through that group with one of my tag offers. So I had to stop creating the email and visit the group online so I could grab the email address for that group so I could send the tag offer.
While I was there I started looking at some of the messages that were already sent and saw one of my sets of tag extras had been sent through. Now, ANYONE who knows me, knows that I have a TOU for using my sets of tag extras. And if you’re NOT familiar with that TOU you can find it HERE.
And in the past I would never acknowledge the people who had been sharing my sets of tag extras in there online groups. But today, I have changed my mind about that. These people who KNOW I have a terms of use and KNOW I don’t want my sets of tag extras shared like that and still share them ANYWAY need to be called out for it. So that’s what I’m going to do.
Her name is “Debbie” and she has A LOT of groups and when one gets shut down, she opens another one to share all the things she collects from others. And apparently it doesn’t matter WHAT the thing is and even if you have a terms of use for your graphics either because she doesn’t care and will share it anyway. And YES, I have crossed paths with her before and did become a member of one of her groups in the past and when I saw one of my sets of tag extras being sent by HER I let her know about my terms of use. So, SHE KNOWS about it, okay?
So, if you are wondering WHY I removed ALL my sets of tag extras from my site here, WHY I stopped making my tag extras in the future and WHY I no longer have my own online groups, well you can thank all those people like “Debbie” who refuse to follow the terms of use of the people who create these graphics. And I know for a fact that she’s not the only one who has done this.
There have been plenty of people over the years who have shared my tag extras, my PTU tagger kits, my FTU tagger kits, my PTU digital scrap kits, my FTU digital scrap kits, my commercial use products, and my commercial use freebies. And that’s another reason WHY I no longer create scrap kits professionally either. And all the scrap kits I do make these days are ones I use for my tag making ONLY. So, again you can thank all THOSE people for sharing my scrapbook kits and products illegally.
You know, I put a lot of effort into making my tags. It sometimes takes me hours to make 1 tag that I like and some I will remove parts I don’t like from the tag I’m making and sometimes I will completely start over making the tag. And I’ve been making tags for a LOT of years and I put long hours into making them. And you know sometimes later down the road I might even look at one of my older tags and decide to update it. And I do all this because I love making tags and I want them to look a certain way and I push myself in doing my best where my tags are concerned.
I really don’t want to stop making tags, I really don’t want to close this site and I really don’t want to stop making graphics either. But if things don’t change soon, I will have no alternative but to do that. And I think it’s pretty sad to think that some people are so greedy and want to share other peoples property so much that they do that without even thinking about the consequences of there actions. I mean is it really worth it? Does it give you joy to destroy someone’s life and all the years they’ve been working on there craft? Think about that for a minute and think about all the hours it takes me to create a new tag.
